POD: Day 226 | 3.27.12
After bending a couple of photographer's ears about good places to get authentic Mexican food in Charlotte, I took it upon myself to find one of the places on my day off. Way down South Boulevard is a hole in the wall called Taqueria Mexico. Not only do they have delicious tacos with doubled corn tortillas, they also have an amazing trio of hot sauces that you get just for sitting down (and tall glasses of sugary jamaica to soothe the heat on your tongue). Add to that an intimate setting that beams with colors from their hand-painted chairs and tables that depict scenes from bull fighting rings, pueblos, and various plants and animals. Of the four tacos I consumed (2 carnitas, 1 lengua, and 1 papas y chorizo) the papas y chorizo was my favorite. In fact, I bought ingredients and made the same tacos at home a few nights later because I wanted more :)
