I am perpetually drawn to the texture, hue and abstract nature of rust. These images are from scans of negs from a roll of color negative film I shot with my Yashica Mat in East Bend last Fall.
Have you ever heard of Gerhard Richter? There's this amazing book that shows close-ups of his abstract paintings - these photos remind me of them. Here's a link: http://www.gerhard-richter.com/art/paintings/abstracts/category.php?catID=58
Seriously, really nice photos! LOVE abstract photography!
The top image is my favorite. It is a landscape of colorful patina.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, I always love your "texture" photos and these are no exception.

ReplyDeleteThese are great, the first one is my favorite. I love how something as simple as rust can be so beautiful. Good job.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Not to dork out too much, but this is a great example of the sort of fractal patterns we see all the time due to natural processes.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your blog is dope as butt.
