This is the final print from the digital take I posted a couple weeks ago. This was taken with a Mamiya C330, using Kodak B&W Plus-X 125 film. This was my favorite image from my portfolio :)
I want to say again that this is such a fantastic image - very cleverly thought up and a beautiful print. This was one of my absolute favorites in the portfolio show.
Ms. Melvin...This is a beautiful image. At first glance, it appears to be a pretty straight forward picture, yet, when you really look at it it seems almost ethereal. I think that this impression of other-worldliness comes from the little bit of motion blur(?) at the bottom of image, combined with the phantom-like immersion of the face from the glass surface. It has a simplicity, however, it is very compelling.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo. I can't believe I missed it during portfolio review!

ReplyDeleteShe reminds me so much of Julianne Moore from "A Single Man"
