POD: Day 360 | 8.10.12

My fellow intern, Julia Wall, on her last day at The Herald-Sun. I loved sharing this experience with two other students (Mr. Al Drago being the other secret ingredient to the special intern sauce). I wish *buckets* of luck to Julia on her last year at UNC and to Al, as he starts his second year at Elon. I cannot wait to see the amazing work you two create!

POD: Day 350 | 7.31.12

My lovely friend and talented photographer Katherine Clark drove in from Wilmington to spend a day in Durham to catch up and have some photos made (of her, by me). I was reminded very quickly how challenging it can be to photograph a photographer---especially one who has been interning/working with a wedding & portrait photographer. As a photojournalist I work in a slightly different manner, so in addition to helping a friend it was also a learning experience. Katherine will be using a couple of photos on her revamped website in the near future. I am excited to see her new site and all the new work that will grace its electronic pages!

POD: Day 341 | 7.22.12

Visits with friends, while never long enough, are always deeply appreciated and highly valued. I have not seen my lovely friend Jessica in well over a year. She lives in New York and travels around and out of the country often for work, and my schedule is always all over the place. That we were able to spend three hours together for dinner and a lovely dessert of homemade ice cream with blueberries and pomegranate means means the world. One day we will have more time to chat, Jessica, but until then carry on and continue being the amazing, inspiring person that you are!

POD: Day 288 | 5.30.12

I spent my final day off in Durham volunteering and seeing some lovely, sassy friends from RCC.

MISS EAVES

I had the pleasure of photographing the very talented Miss Eaves today. With Miss Eaves gaining momentum and endless attention  (especially after), she asked if I would take a few photos for PR use. These are a few of my favorites from our shoot today. Don't forget to check out Miss Eaves on Facebook, Twitter and Band Camp!!! For all you news radio nerds out there, watch her awesome NPR video!!!

POD: Day 161 | 1.22.12

In addition to being an incredibly talented designer and artist, my friend Shanthony Exum is also a rapper known as Miss Eaves. With Miss Eaves gaining momentum and endless attention  (especially after her awesome NPR video) she needed some PR photos and I needed more practice using flash and finding my comfort zone when photographing portraits---win, win! Plus Shanthony bubbles with personality and is one of the most fun people I know, so it was not difficult to find a comfort zone with her. These are a few of my favorites from our shoot today. Check out Miss Eaves on Facebook, Twitter and Band Camp!!!
