POD: Day 330 | 7.11.12

Scientist Mike Houchins examines film under a microscope to determine the quality of the film at a lab inside Liquidia Technologies on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

Some assignments are unavoidably straightforward. Such is the case when visiting a biotech company when your window to photograph is 20 minutes and the space in which you are allowed to make images is confined to two countertops in a single lab. It is almost impossible to be creative and the main objective comes down to making images that are not out of context before you're ushered out the door. It is a situation I know I will be in from time to time and every time I encounter a new one, I try my best to see it differently.

Scientist Mike Houchins casts a film  that will be used to make a mold at a lab inside Luquidia Technologies in Morrisville, NC,  on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
