The Thrill of Victory

Mt. Tabor faced Davie tonight in what turned out to be quite a nail biting game. There were blocked field goals, back to back interceptions, injury after injury, coaches yelling at the referees Bobby Knight style, roaring crowds, frustrated players----it was enough to make one feel like they were in an episode of Friday Night Lights. Davie was the one (and only) team that Mt. Tabor was defeated by last season (during playoffs). Mt. Tabor was hungry for a victory and they got one. The winning score was Mt. Tabor 32, Davie 28. Tabor's players flooded the field, jumping and hugging, and then joined one another on the track, helmets raised, to much applause from the crowd.
