For Weekly #3 in Small Format, we had to submit a photograph that showed farming or agriculture. I went to two different farms and while only one of them proved to be successful, I actually ended up getting my shot at a vineyard. Misty Creek Vineyards is tucked away in a beautiful part of Mocksville, NC. Justin Sizemore was nice enough to allow me to take some photos while he worked on the vines---which are bearing fruit, but have a few more months before they are ready for harvest. He also willingly and expertly answered every question I had about the fruit, cultivating the vines, harvest and so on (and trust me, I had a lot of questions). Many, many thanks to Mr. Sizemore for making this shot possible ;)
This shot has a lot of cool elements- the soft light, the framing of the vines, his blue suspenders/red clippers and the composition - feels like French wine country- well done!
ReplyDeleteI loved this picture the first time I saw it during critic. Seeing up close, I would have liked the face to be a bit lighter. But all in all, this is a beautiful photo.
