"The aesthetic quality of the blur"
In Small Format, we were given some creative breathing room for our weekly: Bokeh. We could "play" and we didn't even have to have a person in the photo. Upon driving home one night, I saw the lights in this parking deck and had an idea. Davis was gracious enough to be my model for the evening and it was easy work for him because he just had to stand in place and look forward. I purposely placed him in between the two rows where there would be a few lights above him just to throw the symmetry off a bit. Luckily there was also a street light nearby that gave illumination to his silhouette. I have never photographed a scene with the intention of capturing bokeh, but I think I will now try that technique from this point forward because this was a lot of fun and I am really pleased with the results.
Really nice shot. You really took advantage of that street light.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the top shot, the backlight gives him shape that stands out from the background.
ReplyDeleteWay to catch the light and use it to your advantage, Melissa! Very well thought out. Good work!
ReplyDeleteI love this shot! Very well thought out. I like that the light behind him takes him apart from the background and creates a type of layer to give the photo more depth. And definitely Bokeh!
ReplyDeleteMelissa I love your bokeh! beautiful back lighting really makes the profile pop!!! The reddish hue looks great!!
