One of my favorite things about photographing a controlled burn is seeing the light pierce through the smoke, making the rays visible and turning a scene from ordinary to extraordinary.
I think you and all the photojourns did SUCH a great job with this. I'm very impressed with the images posted outside the department. But Melissa... That top image is so unbelievably striking -- the lines of sun coming through the sun and radiating out from behind his head. Such a strong image. Amazing job!
