POD: Day 102

For the past few years, Fleet Feet Sports and Set-Up Events has held a Turkey Strut 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank in Winston-Salem . It draws quite a crowd, with both runners and spectators, and seems to get bigger each year. This year was no exception with over 1,000 runners and walkers participating (with the 5k and the Fun Run combined).
I was there with camera in hand to cheer on Davis, et al, while desperately wishing I was joining them. His finish is my POD, despite being not even remotely close to sharp---this was when he kicked it into high gear to pass two other runners that were trying to pass him, just a few feet from the finish line. He succeeded in passing one, but not the other. The woman in the sunglasses in the right corner---his mom, Jean, cheering him on :) His final time: 22:17. Awesome!
